11. Developers’ Corner

A good site to find notes and documentation for developers, researchers and course staff is docs.edx.org.

Another key document is the edX Research Guide, in addition to the new community portal.

The product direction and roadmap, in terms of the problems that need to be solved, are located here. You may also browse and contribute through the public issue tracker on JIRA as well as on the cross-team bug board.

For help, there is the #edx-code IRC channel on Freenode as well as the following mailing lists on Google Groups.

  • edx-code Covers general questions as well as those which are relevant to running and extending the platform.

  • openedx-ops Focuses on the installation and management of the servers on which Open edX is deployed.

  • edx-xblock Pertinent to edX’s XBlock architecture.
